The Parents of Casey Anthony: An Evaluation of Family Roles in a Tragedy Struck Family

Student: Brittany Vargas

This research focuses on exploring the roles and expectations of George and Cindy Anthony, the parents of Casey Anthony. The goal of this paper was to discover how roles and expectations of George and Cindy changed from before the non guilty verdict to after the trial. By looking at typical roles and expectations versus those that are not socially acceptable we can discover how those changes and to what degree changes in roles occur.

The research found that roles and expectations changed after the not-guilty verdict and that society aided in them deviating from social norms. This paper also discusses the importance of the research from a social viewpoint as well as its importance to communication studies.
